WATCH THIS!

Another Political Cartoon..

Even with all the evidence that the UN has had that there is clearly genocide going on in the Sudan, they seem to play like the oblivious and ignorant guy...

Did you know?

Just a few facts...
  • Did you know that the two main groups in Rwanda are the Hutu and the Tutsi.
  • Did you know that they lived together in peace and harmony until Beligum came and colonized Rwanda and brought discrimination with them.
  • Did you know that when Beligum finally left Rwanda in the 1960's, they knew that there was a lot of tension between the Hutu and the Tutsi but did nothing to try to mediate the situation.
  • Did you know that after all the years discrimination the Hutu became fed up with it all and decided to try to exterminate the Tutsi population all together.
  • Did you know that starting in April of 1994 to June of that same year, over 800,000 people were killed in Rwanda?
  • Did you know that they were not only shot, but butchered into pieces by Machetes and Swords?
  • Did you know that the UN and the US were aware of everything that was going on in Rwanda but did absolutely nothing to help?
  • Sad huh?

Political Cartoon

This political cartoon expresses how American's these days are too busy with too many other things to care about genocide. The things that they do care about are generally things that effect them directly such as their jobs, their pensions, their SUV's, etc. Something as big and important as Darfur, on the other hand, is left ignored because it does not effect us as individual's or our society directly.

Dramatic or Aware?

The title of my blog might seem to be a bit dramatic but I think that is what is needed to raise awareness towards the topic of Genocide. The majority of us all know what genocide is and when asked to refer to a genocide the Holocaust is generally the first thing that comes to mind. The saying goes to say "Never Again" , referring to such a horrible event never happening again, but unfortunately, it has happened many times since then and continues to happen in present day society. What can be done about this is the lingering question? I don't know the solution, and that is not the purpose of my blog, but I believe that if more people became aware of what was happening then maybe we could all collectively move forward and no the world would no longer be known as bystanders to genocide, but people that are willing and trying to contribute. Conclusion: my purpose is to inform the general public, or well who ever stumbles upon my blog.
